Independent Authority Against Corruption is conducting criminal investigation against Bayar Sanjaa, former Prime Minister (2007-2009) and Saikhanbileg Chimed, former Prime Minister (2014-2016) on charges of abuse of office, issuing illegal decisions, providing benefits to others in the process of approving the Investment and the Shareholders Agreements on October 6, 2009 and the Plan for Development and Financing of Underground Mine on May 18, 2015 within the framework of Oyu Tolgoi project concluded between the Government of Mongolia, Ivanhoe Mines Mongolia Inc LLC, Ivanhoe Mines Limited and Rio Tinto International Holdings Limited.
S.Bayar, Ch.Saikhanbileg were arrested as suspects on April 10, 2018 and further investigation is being conducted.
